Crying Out Loud works with extraordinary artists to bring their work to realisation and to enable UK audiences to be inspired by it. The company's specialism is in visual, non-text based work: touring and developing UK and international contemporary performance, often in the fields of circus, physical theatre and installation.

Associate Producer

I worked at Crying Out Loud as manager, later becoming associate producer (2004-2007). I worked extensively with various artists to develop new work and ideas in different artforms / on different scales, and had responsibility for all aspects of producing projects. This included developing cross-artform collaborations and facilitating new work; developing contacts and networks (e.g. working independently with venues / arts centres / festivals); marketing performances and events. Working on international tours (both setting up international companies to tour in UK, and taking UK artists overseas); attending and representing Crying Out Loud at international arts festivals & conferences (including Melbourne, Toronto, New York, Brussels, Paris, Italy); financial management and project budgeting for the company; contracts; managing additional freelance staff and artist liaison; managing simultaneous projects at different venues; and loving the opportunity to function within such a small, close, supportive team.

Artist Rosta
